About 44 Basketball Academy

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the highest level of basketball training, focusing primarily on offensive skills.

We strive to teach, encourage and equip players of all ages and skill levels - helping them to reach their full potential on and off the court.

“Special thanks to Joey Lutz for coming through and sharing shooting tips and the mindset needed to become a great player.  The demonstration was fantastic and the shooting ability of Joey Lutz is phenomenal!  The kids were locked in and loved it!”

A.M. -  Youth Basketball Coach, Camp Instructor

What We Teach

The game of basketball today demands that all players - no matter their size or position - must be able to shoot the ball.  Steph Curry - and more recently, Caitlin Clark - have shown that having a 15-20' shooting range is simply not enough in this day and age.  Being a "threat" from BEYOND 20 feet is a game-changer, and players who can shoot the ball with that type of range will excel at the high school, college, and even professional levels.

Joey Lutz was arguably the best 3-pt shooter in the entire state of Maryland during his high school career, and he has now taken his sharp-shooting skills on to the college level.

Your son or daughter will see immediate results when learning the time-tested skills and drills that Joey teaches at his clinics.

Through simple yet consistent shooting workouts, Joey has learned the art of the catch-and-shoot, shooting off the dribble, shooting off screens, the step-back, fade away, and finally, shooting from "the logo" (near mid-court!).  And now, one of the DMV's best shooters has become one of the DMV's best teachers.

Sign up now for one of Joey's clinics and begin your journey to becoming the best shooter you can be!
